Hi We have a MS Office Sharepoint Server 2007 X64 on a Windows server Ent. 2008 x64.This server is a Hyper-V guest and have only one fixed virtual disk ("C" drive). This drive is 50 Gb and now the free space is about 5 Gb, however after I installed the MOSS 2007 (5 month ago) the free space was 23 Gb and the Windows folder size was 12 Gb. As I mentioned in the title, now the WINDOWS folder is 25 Gb (Sysnative 3Gb, System32 6Gb, SysWOW64 6Gb, winsxs 9 Gb) We have system state backup with DPM 2007 every Friday. The MOSS 2007 is using remote SQL 2005 server. What is causing this huge size grow in the c:\Window Folder? Is there any tool or command to clean the windows folder? Thanks

Hi, There is not general tool to clena Windows folder. First of all you have to identify what exactly is taking much space, which particular folder or files. After that we can find a solution. Please check the size if c:\Windows\Installer, c:\Windows\Temp folders andc:\Windows\Logs folders

Hi, There's indeed no automated program that'll clean your Windows dir's of unwanted or temp files. I use Foldersize to see what files and folder are using much space.. foldersize.sourceforge.net

Hi, As I already said above you have to find something more particular. FOr example go into system32 and check what is taking most space, maybe it is LogFiles folder.

I fixed this issue. The problem was the SCCM 2007 client cache, because the default size is 5 Gb. I changed to 1 GB and the windows folder size is went back to 16 Gb. Regards Imre
